Spoof of Rap Song Being Used to Teach Kids to Brush Properly
     July 20, 2012

A public service ad released by the Oregon Dental Association is attempting to teach kids how to brush properly in a fun way by releasing an educational video spoofing the rap song “Teach me how to Dougie.”

Titled “Teach Me How to Brushy”, the video features local celebrities, a rapper and kids singing and dancing and at the same time imparting the correct way how to brush your teeth.

The video also has its own Facebook page which allows parents and kids to suggest ways on how to maintain their oral health and also provides tips on foods and drinks which are beneficial for oral health.

“We wanted to create a fun, interactive tool parents can use to get their kids excited about good dental habits. The mouth is a major health center in the body; unhealthy mouths can lead to diabetes, heart issues, and worse. But rather than lecture parents and expect that lecture to reach their kids, we wanted to create a hub for good facts that families will actually want to check out”, Oregon Dental Association president-elect Dr Jill Price said.
